The "I Love Him" Series
All right, I've been doing some 100 word drabbles, working on my "Magical Nights" series, and totally ignoring the Order, mostly out of shame.

So I decided I needed to do a few 25 Word Slice O' Life drabbles.  Since I couldn't decide which I liked best, here are the five I wrote.

A.N.: The fourth one was my first idea.

The “I Love Him” Series

He forced a smile and pulled on his new maroon jumper.

That’s when I realized two things: Ron loves his mother, and I love him.

He listened attentively, nodding as if he really cared about “eckletricity”.

That’s when I realized two things: Ron loves his father, and I love him.

He slouched away, sporting green hair and hiding a reluctant smile.

That’s when I realized two things: Ron loves the twins, and I love him.

He comforted Ginny with a gentle, brotherly kiss on her forehead.

That’s when I realized two things: Ron loves his sister, and I love him.

He dragged me from a frozen pond and then questioned my sanity.

That’s when I realized two things: Ron loves me, and I love him.

...and I love these. Don't be ashamed. I had a spam response to one of my entries here and that caused me to go back through some of the stories -- and stay up w-a-y too late. That's when I realized: I miss this being an active forum. (Okay, now I feel shame because I haven't written anything in ages.)

Thanks, dude!

Yeah. I miss the heady days of the Order of the Robin...

Seems I'm not the only one to have been away for a time. Still not willing to stop bailing water out of the H/R ship, though. Doubt I'll ever be prolific, but I'll still drop one from time to time. I'll feel better if I can ever finish "Magical Nights" though.

Delightful. Why do people complain about things not being canon? That's the point of fanfic, surely.

Thank you!

I suppose that, for me, it's more of an issue of keeping the characters believable, or "in character", if you will. For me, "canonical" means being able to see that character doing what I suggest, without having to become someone else.

What I like is that neither Harry nor Ron need to be changed to make their loving relationship canonical. What JKR gave us (with the exception of that bizarre thingy at the end of the last book) shows two people who could very easily be in love (not unlike Frodo and Sam, or Merry and Pippin in the LOTR).
